Shani Benedict, Compass Books administrator, publicist, ghost writer, and jack of all trades [having mastered all of them] extraordinaire, gave birth to a healthy, beautiful baby boy last week [12/12/07], thank God. Mother and baby Rafi are doing great.
Those of you who have read and enjoyed WftB or SSLE, along with all of us here at Compass Books, owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to Shani for, among many other things,
* her commitment and hard work to start Compass Books and publish SSLE and WftB * her encouragement and support throughout * her creativity in identifying publicity opportunities and wonderful personality in pursuing them relentlessly * her responsibility and competence * her own amazing writing talents * her willingness to put in long hard hours to build the company,
to name a very few. Shani has been a driving force behind Compass Books from the beginning and a wonderful friend and assistant to me personally.
We're literally not sure what we're going to do without her constant infusion of wisdom and insight.
We wish Shani and Ari all the best with their new little boy Rafi!
We know you'll be as spectacular a Mommy as you are at everything else.
Mazal tov!
